Tofu Fritters (Perkedel Tahu)

There is always tofu in my fridge. Sometimes, when I don’t know what to cook, I just grab the tofu and make it into soup, fried tofu, stir fry with vegetables, stir fry with beef, bakmoy, or even fritters. Fritters are easy to make, just mixture all the ingredients (less than 5 minutes) and deep fry them (less than 10 minutes). So in 15 minutes, I get a delicious and wonderful yet healthy tofu dish. Ok, not so healthy perhaps since it is fried…….but tofu is a healthy food. And sometimes it’s ok to eat fried food. Lil boy and daddy are crazy about this dish, they can eat 8 to 10 tofu fritters every time for lunch and another 10 for dinner. These fritters are crispy outside but soft inside. Yummy…….


  • 3 pack of tofu, mashed
  • 10 shrimps, minced
  • 2 spring onion, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp fried shallot
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced and fried

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well
  2. Using hands, form patties from tofu mixture (take one spoonful of tofu mixture, make into small ball, than flatten)
  3. Deep fried until golden brown
