Grilled Dory Fish (Ikan Dori Panggang Bawang)

This is another alternative of how to cook fish. Eating fish is very good for our health, but eating too much fried fish will not good for our health. So instead of frying the fish, I tried this recipe which I took from detikfood.com. To my surprise, the taste was very delicious (lil boy and I like salty food, maybe that’s why we were in love with this dish immediately). The best thing was, it wasn’t oily at all…………(meaning: no need to clean the kitchen floor after cooking, and no need to worry that lil boy would get cough after eating this dish).

Ingredients:

  • 1 big fish fillet ( I used dory fish, but can be replaced by any kind of fish)
  • Butter / margarine

Combine all and mix well in a bowl:

  • 1/2 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 6 cloves of garlic, grind
  • 1/4 large onion, grind
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1/2 young ginger, thinly sliced
  • 6 cilantro leaves
  • Add 1/2 tsp of salt if necessary

Method:

  1. Dip the fillet in the batter and store in fridge for at least 1 hour
  2. Melted 1 tsp of butter on the grill pan
  3. Grill the fillet until golden brown in low heat (will take about 5 minutes on each side)
  4. Serve with hot steam rice
